Almire Gandonnière

Almire Gandonnière (Loué, Sarthe, France, 3 August 1814〔The date is given in Quérard, Joseph Marie. ''La France littéraire, ou Dictionnaire bibliographique des savants'', ''s.v.'' "Gandonnière (Almire)"〕 – ) was a French writer, remembered today only as the collaborator with Hector Berlioz of the libretto for ''La Damnation de Faust'' (1846), which was based on the translation of Goethe's masterpiece by Gérard de Nerval. Gandonnière, under various pseudonyms,〔Heylli, Georges d'. ''Dictionnaire des pseudonyms'' (Paris) 1869, ''s.v.''
